Grundfos SQF

Grundfos SQFlex pumps are some of the most popular pumps for lifting water up to 800 feet. The pumps can be directly powered by a PV solar array and can also be powered by an inverter, 48VDC battery or even the regular utility grid. Virtually any power source from 30 to 300 VDC or 90 to 240 VAC can be used to power these pumps.

The SQF pumps have MPPT (maximum power point tracking) of the array and can operate on a series string of PV modules with a total peak power of at least 30 VDC although efficiency will be higher at voltages over 100 VDC.

The motor has a max current draw of 8.4 amps and has integrated electronics so complicated external controls are not necessary.

Grundfos SQF pumps have 11 models that can provide from 77 gallons per minute (at 6 feet of head) to 3.5 gallons per minute at 800 feet of head with a 1.6 kW or smaller solar array. Systems with larger solar arrays will produce the required power even with less light, extending the pump’s peak run time and providing more water per day.
